e-Micromobility
Voltraware's wireless charging solutions for micromobility provide seamless, efficient power transfer for electric scooters and bikes. With MR technology, riders enjoy hassle-free charging without precise alignment, enhancing convenience and extending battery life, making urban transportation more sustainable and user-friendly.
Applications
Universal Park & Charge
Voltraware’s wireless charging system enables e-Bikes or e-Scooters to be wirelessly charged with high positional flexibility from beneath by the Same Power Transmitting Unit. This feature allows users to simply “Park and Charge,” eliminating the need for repeated plugging and unplugging of cables, and exposed metal contacts.
With this technology, the wireless power receiver automatically initiates the charging process when it enters the transmitter’s charging zone. This seamless and convenient charging method enhances the user experience by making it easier, safer, and more efficient to keep e-Bikes and e-Scooters powered up without the hassle of traditional charging methods.
Framework on interoperability
Voltraware’s e-micromobility wireless charging solution is designed to introduce opportunistic and hands-free battery charging into the shared ecosystems of micromobility operators. The primary goal is to increase the utilization rate of shared vehicles while also extending the battery lifecycle, which are the two significant factors for enhancing the profitability of shared mobility operations.
- Ground Clearance: Z = 15-20 cm
- Misalignment (X- and Y-axis): ± 7cm
- Battery Capacity: 187-551 Wh
- Vbat nominal: 36 V
- Vbat charge: 42 V
Increased Utilization Rate
Sustaining higher average State-of-Charge (SoC) of the vehicles within the shared ecosystem.
Enabling in-service vehicles to operate on a 24-7 basis without requiring manual battery swapping/charging.
Extended Battery Life
Charging the on-vehicle battery at a "shallow" state (70% – 90%) to extend the battery life.
Avoiding battery overheating through frequent and smaller charging periods.
Reduced Operating Cost
Enabling a higher average SoC, which may allow for a reduction in the capacity required of on-vehicle batteries.
Eliminating the need for swap/spare batteries, saving on associated costs, labor, and wear and tear related to battery charging.
By combining these benefits, Voltraware's solution can immediately help to reduce the operational overhead for charging shared micromobility vehicles, thereby improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of fleet operations owned and operated by shared mobility service providers.
In addition to addressing crucial aspects of the micromobility sector, the solution also enhances the experience for public e-Bike and e-Scooter users. The "Park and Charge" user experience offers a seamless and convenient way to access and charge micromobility vehicles, making this popular, eco-friendly mode of transportation more accessible and user-friendly in cities across the world.
